The Doge AI Deregulation Decision Tool will assess approximately 200,000 regulations, identifying those deemed unnecessary for elimination. Internal documents suggest that Doge, previously managed by Elon Musk, targets the removal of 100,000 regulations following staff feedback. Agencies like the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have reportedly used this AI tool to review over 1,000 regulatory sections, while the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau utilized it for all deregulation efforts. Trump has pledged aggressive deregulation, arguing that excessive regulations inflate costs. White House spokesperson Harrison Fields noted that various options, including AI, are under exploration for deregulation, emphasizing a unique transformation of government operations.
