Effortlessly Organize Your Files in Google Drive with Natural Language Commands for Gemini

0

Google has enhanced the capabilities of its Gemini AI assistant in Google Drive, enabling users to manage files and folders through natural language commands. This functionality builds on a previous March feature that allowed users to create files and folders. Now, you can instruct Gemini to move files seamlessly, improving file management efficiency.

Simply select the files you wish to organize, open Gemini in the Drive side panel, and submit your command as if chatting with a person. Potential prompts include “Create a new folder in My Drive called Q2 forecast” or “Move the @Q1 wrap up file to the @Q2 forecast folder.” Currently, you can execute specific actions like moving files or creating new folders and documents, limited to five files at a time.

This feature, targeted at Google Workspace subscribers, began its rollout on July 7, 2025, and promises a more convenient experience for managing your documents.
