AARI, led by Microsoft Research, champions ambitious AI initiatives to enhance understanding of agentic AI, drive innovative applications, and prioritize safety in AI development. Building on the Accelerating Foundation Model Research (AFMR) program’s achievements, AARI facilitates a global research network, enabling access to industry-scale models and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. This initiative emphasizes three core goals: 1) Driving Innovation—translating research breakthroughs into practical applications across sectors like education and space; 2) Understanding Agentic AI—delving into the foundational mechanics of AI systems to improve robustness and efficiency; and 3) Ensuring Safety—developing tools to responsibly design AI that benefits all.
