Empowering India Inc: Transforming AI from a Source of Anxiety to a Catalyst for Growth

0
India Inc needs to ensure AI becomes tool for empowerment than anxiety

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly viewed positively by knowledge workers and mid-career professionals in India, with 34% believing it will enhance their job responsibilities next year, according to ADP’s ‘People at Work’ report. Despite this optimism, younger professionals (27-39 years) exhibit more anxiety about job displacement, with 19% fearing AI might replace their roles. Conversely, older employees (40-54 years) are more confident, with 37% affirming AI’s positive impact. To address fears around AI, organizations should focus on skill-building and transparent communication, showing how AI supports rather than replaces jobs. Real examples include AI in HR for compliance automation and in IT for coding efficiency, allowing workers to tackle complex challenges. Employers are encouraged to align reskilling programs with business needs through structured certification and practical projects. Overall, India’s unique workforce preparedness and cultural flexibility contribute to its positive outlook on AI’s role in the workplace.
