Google is reportedly revamping its Gemini AI app to enhance its visual appeal and user engagement, following the success of OpenAI’s Sora app. The new user interface, uncovered by Android Authority, shifts from a chatbot-style format to a scrollable feed featuring suggested prompts paired with striking images. Though these updates are not yet public, they include convenient buttons for actions like “Create Image” and a more dynamic home screen.

With prompts encouraging creative features like “Teleport me to deep space” and “Turn my drawing into a storybook,” the revamped app aims to inspire users and showcase Gemini’s AI capabilities. Google’s spokesperson stated there are no announcements at this time, but if released, these changes may help Gemini compete more effectively against OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which currently maintains a minimalist interface. The updates could also leverage growing interest in Google’s new AI image model, Nano Banana, which contributed to Gemini’s rise to the top of the App Store in September.
