This update, found in the 20251031 beta version, will enable users to create and edit AI-generated images within chat conversations. Remix allows for customization of shared photos using short text prompts directly in message threads. Users can access the Remix option via the media picker or by long-pressing an image. Upon first use, a pop-up will inform them that photos will be processed on Google’s servers, requiring consent. The Banana icon will initiate the image generation process, offering preset suggestions and a text field for custom prompts. Early beta code suggests daily usage limits to manage server demand post-launch. Known for its realistic image generation capabilities, Nano Banana is part of Google’s broader AI expansion. While no official release date is confirmed, the public beta hints at an imminent global rollout, enhancing creativity in image sharing.
