Sarvam AI is making waves in India’s AI landscape, challenging established players like ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini. Our real-world tests focused on translation, speech-to-text, and image analysis. While ChatGPT remains the go-to AI tool globally, Gemini has set high benchmarks for search-integrated intelligence. Sarvam AI stands out for its multilingual capabilities, supporting five Indian languages, including Hindi and Bengali, and localizing content for a more relatable user experience. In translation tests, Sarvam outperformed ChatGPT and Gemini in speed, delivering quicker responses and adapting keywords for Indian users. However, ChatGPT provided slightly better accuracy. For speech-to-text, Sarvam seamlessly transcribed audio files, while ChatGPT required external tools, and Gemini had limitations on file length. In image analysis, ChatGPT excelled in providing nuanced descriptions, whereas Sarvam struggled with detail. Ultimately, while each AI reflects different philosophies—versatility, connectivity, and localization—Sarvam AI is swiftly positioning itself as a significant competitor in the global AI domain.
