A recent report from Axonius reveals a significant “Trust Gap” in cybersecurity. Despite 90% of security leaders believing their organizations are prepared for threats, only 25% trust their security data, leading to delays in vulnerability remediation and AI adoption. The study involved 500 director-level cybersecurity and IT leaders from companies with over 500 employees. Key findings highlight that 81% take over 24 hours to address critical vulnerabilities, often due to inconsistent and inaccurate data. Although 58% have adopted Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) frameworks, obstacles such as poor integration and difficulty in measuring ROI hinder progress. The report underscores that effective risk management relies on trustworthy data, emphasizing that bad data limits AI’s potential in security.
