Google is rolling out the “Past Chats” feature in the Gemini app for free users globally, enhancing the personalization of responses based on previous conversations. This update allows Gemini to recall your past discussions, enabling a more tailored experience without the need for you to reiterate prior topics. Users can inquire about the relevance of past chats in follow-up prompts, ensuring continuity in conversations. Initially introduced for Google AI subscribers last year, the feature is now accessible to free users, though availability in Europe will follow later. In the Gemini settings, a new “Personal context” page allows users to enable or disable this feature. Future enhancements will include Personal Intelligence, which integrates data from Gmail, Photos, and other first-party applications. This improvement not only boosts user engagement but also positions Gemini as a leading AI tool for personalized communication.
