Google has started rolling out its Gemini integration in Chrome for iOS, enhancing user experience by allowing quick queries about the current webpage. The feature, accessible via a new page icon beside the address bar, replaces the Google Lens camera icon. Users can utilize the “Page tools” panel to either “Search screen” using Lens or select “Ask Gemini” to engage in a chat. This interaction begins with a colorful highlight animation that attaches the current page’s URL automatically. Suggestions for quick actions include “Summarize page” or “Create FAQ about this topic.” Gemini’s responses appear in an overlay, keeping the page visible. Currently, this feature is available for English-speaking users in the U.S. on iPhone and iPad, must be used while signed into a Chrome account, and cannot be accessed in Incognito mode. The rollout is gradual, with full availability still pending for all users.
