Google has recently enhanced its Gemini AI by adding a much-awaited feature: notebooks, crucial for organizing chats. This capability, already available in competitors like ChatGPT and Claude, allows users to create and manage notebooks—essentially powerful folders—for better chat organization. Users can move existing conversations, provide custom instructions, and upload relevant files such as PDFs to enhance project context. Additionally, notebooks integrate seamlessly with NotebookLM, allowing users to transition between generating detailed text conversations on Gemini and creating infographics or video overviews in NotebookLM.
Notebooks will be available starting this week for Google AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus subscribers, with broader access for mobile users and free-tier accounts expected soon. This feature marks a significant improvement in Gemini’s usability, bridging gaps with rival platforms while supporting Google AI subscribers with exclusive priority access. Google’s ongoing enhancements, including recent Personal Intelligence support, aim to deliver more personalized and proactive assistance through its tools.
