Gilat Satellite Networks has unveiled an AI-driven transformation of its Network Management System (NMS) by integrating the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This innovation enables immediate access to advanced AI capabilities, facilitating secure communication and compliance through the new NMS-MCP gateway. Supported AI models include GPT Series 4, 5, and the Claude Sonnet 4, allowing for seamless interfacing with the Total-NMS.
Key AI applications encompass a Network Operations Centre (NOC) agent that continuously monitors network health, detects anomalies, and initiates corrective actions. Additionally, the Software-Defined Satellite (SDS) AI agent optimizes network configurations based on business priorities and traffic patterns, enhancing resource utilization and overall Quality of Service (QoS).
Aharon Mullokandov, Gilat’s Chief R&D Officer, emphasizes that AI is pivotal for customer innovation and simplified network management, marking a significant step in Gilat’s AI evolution. For more insights, visit our LinkedIn or Electronic Specifier.
