The AI tool supports flight surgeons with predictive analytics to enhance decision-making and ensure astronauts receive timely medical care, especially as missions venture further from Earth. Early trials show reliable symptom diagnoses, and collaboration with medical professionals aims to refine its capabilities. Currently, astronauts undergo basic medical training and have access to a pharmacy aboard the International Space Station (ISS). However, for missions beyond low-Earth orbit, enhanced onboard medical systems will be crucial to address emergencies effectively.
