Google Cloud’s annual ROI of AI study reveals consistent revenue growth from generative AI initiatives among enterprises. The report, based on a survey of 3,466 senior leaders across 24 countries, highlights a new wave of agentic AI early adopters, who show significantly higher ROI in customer service, marketing, security, and software development.
Key findings indicate that 52% of executives actively utilize AI agents, and early adopters allocate at least 50% of their AI budgets to these technologies. Notably, 88% of early adopters report ROI in at least one use case, surpassing the average of 74% across all organizations. The study also emphasizes diverse AI applications across industries, with a regional focus on tech support in Europe and customer service in JAPAC.
As organizations invest more in generative AI, with 77% increasing spending, challenges such as data privacy and system integration emerge. Overall, the findings underscore the transformative potential of agentic AI and its critical role in future business growth.
