During the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Google Cloud unveiled significant advancements in its Cloud Spanner Graph and Vertex AI aimed at revolutionizing telecom networks through agentic artificial intelligence (AI). The new features enable telecom companies to transition from merely gaining insights from AI to utilizing intelligent agents that can sense, reason, and act autonomously.
Key highlights include the introduction of network digital twins for real-time performance monitoring and fault analysis, a unified graph data layer to dismantle data silos, and real-time predictions using Graph Neural Networks (GNN). Additionally, Google Cloud released its telco data pipeline and models on GitHub, simplifying the implementation of standardized ontologies for telecom service providers.
In partnership with FutureConnections, Google Cloud also launched new telco agents designed to automate data governance and manage network operations. With these innovations, Google Cloud aims to transform telecoms into intelligent service providers, aligning with a growing trend of AI adoption in the industry.
