This move broadens accessibility for millions globally, following last month’s launch for English speakers in 180 countries. Originally introduced as an experimental feature for Google One AI Premium users in March, AI Mode is designed to compete with platforms like ChatGPT and offers multimodal capabilities. Recent updates have added “agent” features, enabling users to find restaurant reservations and local services, available through the Google AI Ultra subscription, priced at $249.99 monthly. This expansion allows users to engage in native languages, enhancing their search experience by understanding context and cultural nuances. While the Ultra tier may be costly for some, Google’s ongoing enhancements aim to provide a more personalized, AI-driven search experience, reinforcing the company’s commitment to integrating AI into everyday use.
