Google’s live translation feature, previously exclusive to Android, is now available for Apple devices, enhancing the functionality of newer Apple AirPods. Utilizing Gemini AI, this feature supports translation for 70 languages and is expanding to countries like France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Thailand, and the UK. Users can enjoy translations through any headphones, whether wired or wireless, as the processing occurs directly on the mobile device. To use the feature, open the Google Translate app, select the Live Translate icon, and choose from options like Listening, Conversation, Text Only, or Custom Settings. The Conversation mode offers two-way translation, playing audio through the device’s speakers or connected headphones. Additionally, the Face-to-Face mode displays transcriptions and translations on the screen for each speaker. This update enhances accessibility and ensures seamless communication across languages, making it a vital tool for travelers and multilingual users.
