Google Cloud is significantly enhancing its AI investment in India by expanding local AI hardware capacity. This initiative aims to support Indian developers, startups, and enterprises in building and deploying advanced AI models. Saurabh Tiwary, Vice President of Cloud AI at Google, emphasized the rapid adoption of AI in India and the importance of providing powerful, localized tools to nurture the ecosystem. The introduction of Google’s AI Hypercomputer architecture and Trillium TPUs promises faster, efficient AI performance, allowing businesses to train and run Gemini models directly in India. Additionally, Google is launching tools like Document AI to streamline workflows and enhance AI capabilities. Collaborating with IIT Madras, Google Cloud will support Indic Arena, a platform for benchmarking AI models across Indian languages. This strategic expansion not only bolsters AI innovation in the country but also empowers local organizations to leverage AI tailored to India’s unique business and cultural needs.
