Google has unveiled its AI-powered conversational search feature, Search Live, in India, accessible within the Google app’s AI Mode. This innovative tool allows users to interact through voice and camera, providing real-time responses in English and Hindi. Search Live blends capabilities from Gemini AI and Project Astra, enabling users to ask questions while using their camera for visual context. To utilize this feature, users can open the Google app, tap the “Live” button, and ask queries by speaking, typing, or pointing their camera at objects. Search Live is distinct from Gemini Live, focusing on real-time multimodal search. It supports practical tasks and troubleshooting while allowing switchability between voice and text. Currently, it supports nine Indian languages, including Bengali, Kannada, and Tamil, expanding Google’s AI capabilities to more users. The feature is available on Android and iOS, with a broader rollout anticipated. This development marks a significant evolution in Google’s search technology.
