Google Drive has upgraded its app with “collaborate with Gemini” tools, enhancing user interactions with files on both Android and iOS. Previously available only on the web, these features now allow users to summarize documents, ask questions about folders, and retrieve quick facts directly within the app. This update enables a seamless chat experience with Gemini, helping users quickly grasp main ideas and pull relevant details from their files. To use the tools, simply open the Google Drive app and click on “Ask Gemini” for suggested prompts or to type your own questions. Note that these collaboration features are rolling out gradually and may take up to 15 days to be accessible to all users. Currently, only Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Google AI Pro for Education, and Google One AI Premium subscribers can access these innovative tools, leaving personal free accounts without this functionality for now.
