Google is expanding its Chrome browser with AI features, including Gemini, across India, leveraging the Gemini 3.1 model for enhanced browsing efficiency. Supporting over 50 languages, including Hindi, Bengali, and Tamil, these features will initially launch on desktop and iOS. Charmaine Dsilva, Chrome’s product management director, highlights Gemini’s integration as a transformative way to access information securely and intuitively without constant tab-switching. Users can engage the “Ask Gemini” feature to get real-time assistance—like summarizing content or finding products—directly from the browser. Gemini allows interaction alongside multiple tabs, making tasks like composing emails or transforming images seamless. Enhanced security measures ensure user safety through threat recognition and automated updates. With this rollout, India joins Canada and New Zealand in experiencing the advanced capabilities designed to streamline web interactions and improve productivity.
