Google enhances its Assistant on the Nest Mini and Audio with new Gemini models, introducing more natural voices. Following seven initial options added in December, three new voices have been launched, named after plants: Yarrow (warm, deeper), Croton (smooth, deeper), and Pilea (bright, higher). These new voices complement existing options like Aloe (calm), Oxalis (bright), and Ivy (British accent), among others.
To access these features, users enrolled in the Google Home Public Preview program need to enable “Experimental AI features.” This can be done via the Google Home app by tapping the beaker icon and adjusting settings in the Google Assistant menu.
The Gemini-powered Assistant, which began testing in December, aims to provide more comprehensive AI-driven responses to user queries. Google may eventually rebrand the Assistant as Gemini, similar to its approach with Google TV. Embrace the evolution of smart home interactions with Google’s latest innovations.
