Google is enhancing its Gemini AI by introducing a new feature that supports continuous voice interactions, as reported by Android Authority. This update, discovered in the Google app version 16.42.61, allows users to hold down the microphone icon in Gemini’s input field, facilitating extended voice commands without interruption. Currently, Gemini’s voice tools stop when a user pauses unless using Gemini Live or ChatGPT’s Voice Mode. The upcoming feature aims to mimic WhatsApp’s mic lock for voice notes, enabling users to “lock” the microphone. This improvement is particularly beneficial for issuing longer and more complex instructions, which enhances user experience and interaction with the AI. As Google tests this functionality, it is expected to address Gemini’s conversational limitations and provide a smoother, more intuitive voice command experience. This move highlights Google’s commitment to refining AI technology and ensuring user-friendly features in their products.
