This move follows previous integrations with GitHub and VS Code. Salva, Google’s product director, emphasized Gemini CLI’s adaptability, with various uses, such as GitHub Actions and note organization. Zed’s collaborative background aids in creating an interactive environment where AI agents work alongside developers. The integration allows real-time agent activity monitoring and utilizes a new Agent Client Protocol (ACP) to enhance compatibility across platforms, ensuring a modern development stack. Features include editable diff displays for proposed changes and direct access to documentation for AI agents. By facilitating personalized agent interactions, Zed positions itself at the forefront of AI-enhanced coding experiences, striving for continuous innovation in developer tools.
