According to architect Robert Caruso, ChatGPT struggled with basic moves, confusing pieces and missing strategic opportunities. After resetting its awareness multiple times, ChatGPT ultimately conceded defeat. Similarly, Copilot, despite claiming superior analytical abilities, faced similar spatial memory issues and also lost to the Atari. Even Google’s Gemini, confident of victory, decided to cancel its match upon realizing its limitations. This unexpected outcome highlights the differences in design and purpose between classic gaming consoles and AI language models.
