The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE now support Google’s Gemini AI assistant on their cover screens. Users hoped to access Gemini on older models like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and 5 with the recent One UI 8.0 update. This update has begun rolling out, revealing that while Gemini can function on the cover screen, it’s not straightforward. Users cannot activate Gemini via the power button while the device is locked; instead, it prompts you to “open phone to continue.” For now, you can invoke Gemini using the “Hey Google” command or by adding it to the Good Lock launcher widget. Fortunately, Gemini’s capabilities, including conversational features and camera feed sharing, remain accessible via the cover display. Samsung has began releasing One UI 8 for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and will continue expanding to other devices soon, enhancing user experience with AI integration.
