LingGuang, a new Chinese AI app for building applications using plain-language prompts, launched on November 18 and quickly gained over 2 million downloads. Developed by Ant Group, LingGuang features an impressive artificial general intelligence (AGI) camera that analyzes real-time scenes and provides contextual information. Unlike OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which requires uploaded images, LingGuang allows instant identification of products, such as nutritional details for protein smoothies in a supermarket setting.
The app’s unique user interface offers tappable prompt bubbles, creating a seamless augmented reality experience. In addition, LingGuang enables on-the-fly video and image generation, allowing users to create animated clips directly from captured images. The flash app feature promises quick mini-app creation, exemplified by a “meal decision” generator tailored to local cuisine. While LingGuang excels in user experience and immediate application building, ChatGPT provides comprehensive code explanations for more complex tasks, making it suitable for varied coding needs.
