The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has launched the “Kalaa Setu – Real-Time Language Tech for Bharat” Challenge via its WaveX Startup Accelerator Platform. This national initiative invites AI startups to create scalable, indigenous solutions for automated content generation in multiple Indian languages, focusing on three areas: text-to-video, text-to-graphics, and text-to-audio generation. These technologies aim to transform official information into accessible formats, enhancing relatability for diverse audiences, from farmers to seniors. Startups can apply at the WAVEX portal by July 30, 2025, presenting a working Minimum Viable Concept (MVC). Finalists will present in New Delhi, and the winner will receive extensive development support. Additionally, the “Bhasha Setu” challenge is ongoing, promoting real-time language translation. These initiatives reflect the Indian government’s commitment to AI-driven solutions for effective governance and bridging communication gaps, fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem that respects the country’s linguistic diversity.
