Manus, the AI startup originating from China, has launched a groundbreaking feature called Wide Research, aimed at simplifying large-scale, complex research tasks. Announced on July 31, this feature utilizes multiple AI agents to gather information efficiently on hundreds of items. Positioned as a competitor to U.S. tools like OpenAI’s Deep Research and Google’s Deep Think, Wide Research is Manus’ most significant release since its March debut.

This feature, available to Pro customers, showcases Manus’ advanced virtualization infrastructure and flexible agent architecture. Wide Research facilitates parallel processing and agent-to-agent collaboration, enabling diverse tasks without strict formats. Co-founder Peak Ji demonstrated its potential by conducting simultaneous research on 100 sneakers and designing 50 posters within minutes. Despite being in the experimental phase, it promises to transform research activities, aiding users in exploring Fortune 500 companies and comparing educational programs. Manus recently expanded its operations globally and secured $75 million in funding.
