Recent updates improved prompt caching and introduced daily limits, which some users find frustrating, especially those unable to purchase additional AI tokens. Kiro’s plans, initially outlined as free, Pro, and Pro+, have been removed pending new pricing details. Kiro, based on Code OSS and utilizing Anthropic’s Claude models, does not require an AWS account, focusing on a “spec mode” that generates markdown files instead of code.
Despite mixed reviews, industry analysts predict Kiro could become one of AWS’s fastest-growing products.
