This innovative app allows users to create and share 6-second videos, promoting authenticity and creativity. diVine’s website emphasizes its decentralized technology, making it user-driven and controlled by the community. Currently, the beta testing phase is full, and interested users can join a mailing list for updates. Originally launched in 2012, Vine was shut down in 2017 due to profitability issues. The revitalized diVine is funded by Dorsey’s nonprofit, “and Other stuff,” and notably has a policy against the use of artificial intelligence. This revelation comes shortly after Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and owner of X, mentioned plans to revive Vine with an AI twist. As the video-sharing landscape evolves, diVine aims to bring back the essence of short-form video in a fresh, community-driven format.
