Karnataka has launched its inaugural Skill Development Policy for 2025–2032, with the aim of establishing the state as a leading center for skilled talent. Approved at a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, this policy aspires to contribute to Karnataka’s goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2032. It emphasizes the use of digital technologies and AI-driven tools for training, assessments, and career guidance via a unified digital portal. Key features include the integration of vocational education in schools, enhanced industry collaboration through apprenticeships, and special initiatives for marginalized groups. The policy also focuses on lifelong learning, reskilling, and upgrading training centers to meet evolving industrial demands. Positioned under the CM’s Kaushalya Karnataka Yojane (CMKKY) 2.0, the policy consolidates various skilling programs, ensuring a cohesive strategy that prioritizes inclusivity and future readiness to address the growing skilled workforce demand.
