KT publishes 148 AI papers, expands real-world applications

Korea Telecom (KT) has published 148 artificial intelligence (AI) research papers over the past five years, emphasizing the transition from research to commercial applications. Notably, 49 of these papers were presented at top global conferences such as CVPR and NeurIPS. Collaborations with prestigious institutions like Seoul National University and KAIST enhance KT’s research capabilities, while partnerships with Microsoft Research bolster its global reach.

KT has developed a robust framework that aligns research planning, validation, and commercialization to ensure practical applications in business operations. Recently, the focus has shifted to agentic AI, vertical AI, responsible AI, and physical AI, with technologies integrated into platforms like “Mi:um K.”

A joint workshop with Seoul National University and KAIST reviewed ongoing projects and future research directions. KT’s commitment to strengthening AI capabilities aims to secure next-generation technologies, thereby enhancing its competitive edge in real-world industrial applications.
