The company has implemented AI tools to streamline contract reviews and introduced translation services in 24 languages for smoother internal communication. In 2022, LG Chem launched the Citizen Data Scientist platform, empowering all employees, even those without coding skills, to engage with AI analytics. This initiative uncovered over 20 improvements in production processes during a pilot program. Additionally, LG Chem leverages AI to enhance superabsorbent polymers for hygiene products and employs digital twin technology to preemptively identify equipment issues. At its Yeosu petrochemical plant, AI-based image analysis optimizes flare stack operations. A new intelligent cathode materials plant in Tennessee will replicate the advanced digital practices of its Cheongju facility.
