Romanian entrepreneur Chris Țurlică, co-founder of MaintainX, recently raised $150 million in Series D funding, elevating the company’s valuation to $2.5 billion. Founded in 2018, MaintainX delivers AI-driven solutions for industries such as manufacturing and operational maintenance, addressing the $1.4 trillion annual cost of equipment failures by replacing outdated tools. With a total funding of $254 million, the startup enables firms to reduce unplanned downtime and operational costs through enhanced insights, thereby transforming front-line workers into skilled tech operators. Țurlică, who graduated from McGill University, has a background in tech and finance, previously leading and selling a messaging app startup called Voo. Major investors in the latest funding round include Bessemer Venture Partners and Bain Capital Ventures. “In today’s unpredictable global environment, our mission is vital,” stated Turlică, emphasizing the importance of AI in augmenting human capability rather than replacing it.
