Tulloch is the co-founder of the AI startup Thinking Machines Lab, which Zuckerberg aimed to acquire. Initially, Zuckerberg approached Thinking Machines Lab’s founder, Mira Murati, who also declined the proposal. Despite attempts to recruit employees from the startup for Meta’s new superintelligence unit, none made the switch.
Tulloch, a machine learning expert with an impressive background, previously worked at Meta for over 11 years and contributed significantly to machine learning systems. His academic credentials include a Master’s in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s in Advanced Mathematics from the University of Sydney. Experts speculate that Tulloch’s equity as co-founder could potentially yield a net worth of $3 billion after the company’s upcoming Series B round, emphasizing a long-term vision over immediate financial gain.
