Meta’s newly launched AI model, Muse Spark, has significantly boosted installs of the Meta AI app, propelling it from No. 57 to No. 5 on the U.S. App Store in just two days. This model, developed under Alexandr Wang at Meta’s Superintelligence Labs, marks a substantial upgrade from the Llama 4 models and strengthens Meta’s competitive position against rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic. The Muse Spark model supports multimodal input—voice, text, and images—and excels in tasks including health inquiries, complex scientific questions, and even visual coding for website creation. With 60.5 million total installs globally and a 138% increase in the last five months, the app’s growth is notable, with India leading in downloads. Future integrations across platforms such as WhatsApp and Instagram are planned. Despite this surge, Meta AI still trails behind major competitors like ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.
