Microsoft recently launched Copilot 3D, a new AI feature that transforms 2D images into 3D models, enhancing creativity and learning. This tool is part of Copilot Labs and aims to simplify 3D creation, making it accessible for users without traditional software complexities. Currently available for a limited audience, users must sign in with a Microsoft or Google account to access the service via desktop at Copilot.com.
To use Copilot 3D, upload PNG or JPG images under 10MB, ideally with clear backgrounds. The AI can quickly generate 3D models, accessible for export to Augmented Reality applications in GLB format, compatible with most 3D tools. Note, creations will be stored for 28 days, and users should only upload images they own, avoiding any data that violates terms, like images of people. As the feature evolves, Microsoft may expand the supported file formats and increase size limits.
