MoonPay Launches Open Wallet Standard for AI Agents
MoonPay, a leading global crypto payments network, has introduced the Open Wallet Standard, an open-source protocol allowing AI agents secure access to wallets, transaction signing, and service payments across various blockchains without exposing private keys. Supported by over 15 organizations, including PayPal and Ripple, this standard enhances the agent economy by providing a unified wallet framework. Built on MoonPay’s earlier innovations, including MoonPay Agents, OWS addresses a critical gap in fragmented payment systems where multiple agents can’t share wallet functionality.
The standard operates with a single interface for multiple chains, ensuring no key exposure and policy-gated spending for autonomous agents. It features modular sub-specifications and allows for easy integration with existing wallets, creating an open skills marketplace. Ultimately, this initiative fosters better interoperability and security in crypto transactions, positioning MoonPay as a pivotal player in the evolving digital finance landscape.
