Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, has launched Grok Imagine, a groundbreaking text-to-video generation tool accessible via the X platform (formerly Twitter). This feature, now available to more users after a limited rollout, enables the creation of videos up to six minutes long from text prompts. Additionally, it can animate still images with sound, offering a comprehensive experience without the need for third-party software. Interested users must update the X app and join the waitlist under the “Grok” section.
Musk describes Grok Imagine as “AI Vine,” reminiscent of the short-form video app previously popular before its 2017 shutdown. Notably, the feature includes a controversial “spicy mode” that permits nudity, raising concerns about AI-generated explicit content. To ensure safety, xAI is also developing Baby Grok, aimed at providing a family-friendly alternative. Access is prioritized for SuperGrok subscribers, enhancing the platform’s premium offerings.
