MWC 2025: Gemini Live can now 'see' with live video

Google has announced exciting new features for its conversational AI, Gemini Live, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. These updates include live video and screen-sharing capabilities, allowing users to interact with the AI in real-time. Now, Gemini Live can answer questions about the user’s immediate environment or the current website they are viewing through visual aids. The live video feature will be available to Gemini Advanced subscribers on Android devices starting in March 2023. This enhancement builds on previous updates, including Gemini’s memory of past conversations. Google previously teased Gemini Live’s visual capabilities during its launch in August 2024. A video demonstration showed practical applications, such as a ceramicist consulting the AI for glaze recommendations. These innovations coincide with other major updates, such as Gemini 2.0 Pro, which improves reasoning and explainability, solidifying Google’s position in the competitive AI space.
