Despite significant investments in AI and cybersecurity tools, security teams struggle with real-world threat detection, according to Vectra AI’s 2026 State of Threat Detection and Response Report. A global survey of 1,450 security professionals highlighted persistent gaps in cyber resilience, even as many feel better equipped. Fragmented visibility and alert overload remain significant challenges, with organizations receiving an average of 2,992 daily alerts—63% of which go unaddressed. While 67% of defenders report positive impacts from AI tools, confidence in threat identification is lagging. Nearly half of defenders feel overwhelmed by alert triage, underscoring the need for improved signal clarity to enhance responsiveness. The report emphasizes that until organizations attain better visibility and understanding of risks, true cyber resilience will remain elusive—even in an age of advanced AI.
