This advanced imaging technology enables rapid analysis of brain scans, allowing for quicker decision-making and treatment initiation, ultimately doubling thrombectomy rates from 2.3% to 4.6%. Thrombectomy, a life-saving procedure to remove blood clots, is crucial, as even minor delays can severely affect recovery outcomes. With around 80,000 strokes occurring annually in England, the AI tool not only speeds up diagnoses but also ensures that more patients receive the necessary specialist care in time. Real-world evidence demonstrates its effectiveness; for instance, an 83-year-old patient benefitted from rapid treatment thanks to the AI’s swift identification of her stroke.
