Northwestern Network for Collaborative Intelligence announces strategic leaders

This summer, Northwestern University launched the Northwestern Network for Collaborative Intelligence (NNCI) to promote responsible data science and AI research and education. NNCI appointed five leaders to oversee its three strategic pillars: Research, Education, and Infrastructure. Jeremy Gilbert and Sara Owsley Sood will co-lead the Education Pillar, focusing on innovative AI pedagogy and equitable access to AI tools. The Research Pillar is guided by Scott Budinger and Chris Wolverton, who aim to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration among clinicians and engineers to tackle significant biomedical challenges through AI. Joseph Paris will oversee the Infrastructure Pillar, ensuring a cohesive ecosystem for effective AI research and education. Together, these leaders will position Northwestern at the forefront of AI innovation, enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration and fostering responsible AI practices, ultimately impacting higher education and research in a transformative era for academia.
