Norway’s Labour Inspection Authority has unveiled “Leon,” a multilingual AI chatbot designed to assist foreign workers in understanding their employment rights. This initiative addresses the vulnerability faced by international workers in Norway, who often grapple with language barriers and complex regulations. Leon provides verified, up-to-date guidance in Norwegian and eleven other languages, ensuring reliable information tailored to individual inquiries rather than mere translations. By analyzing the types of questions frequently asked, Arbeidstilsynet aims to enhance its outreach and resources further. This launch aligns with Norway’s broader strategy to combat workplace exploitation and “social dumping,” emphasizing the importance of accessible information for protecting workers’ rights. Leon serves as an essential tool for international residents, bridging the gap between general knowledge and personalized legal advice, thus empowering workers to navigate their rights effectively. The chatbot is now live, with ongoing enhancements planned for improved integration and functionality.
