OpenAI is ramping up its global enterprise focus, with CEO Sam Altman planning a visit to India in mid-February, coinciding with the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. Although not officially speaking, OpenAI will conduct private meetings with investors and policymakers, targeting India as a key market for ChatGPT and enterprise solutions amid increasing competition from Google and Anthropic.
To bolster its enterprise sales, OpenAI has appointed Barret Zoph as the new leader for global business efforts, focusing on enhancing AI adoption for enterprises. Zoph, a former VP returning from Thinking Machine Labs, assumes this role to confront pressures from competing firms in the large language model space. Additionally, OpenAI has expanded partnerships, including a significant multi-year agreement with ServiceNow, emphasizing its commitment to strengthening its position in the rapidly evolving enterprise AI market. This strategic focus aims to solidify OpenAI’s leadership in the competitive landscape.
