(OAI), leading to the cancellation of OAI’s trademark for “Open AI.” Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers determined that OAI’s mark was invalid because the company deceived the US Patent and Trademark Office by submitting non-existent product examples during their application. The ruling also highlighted that OAI infringed upon OpenAI’s trademark as it ventured into AI tools after OpenAI had secured rights to the name. Consequently, OAI and its founder, Guy Ravine, are permanently barred from using the “Open AI” mark.
