One poignant example cited involves 17-year-old Amaurie Lacey, whose family claims the chatbot provided harmful guidance prior to his tragic death. The plaintiffs are seeking damages and advocating for critical safety reforms, including conversation termination when self-harm is discussed and alerting emergency contacts.
