OpenAI is restructuring its research units to enhance user interactions with its AI systems, as reported by TechCrunch. Chief research officer Mark Chen announced the integration of the 14-member Model Behaviour team into the Post Training division, led by Max Schwarzer. This team has been key in defining the “personality” of OpenAI’s models, working on issues such as reducing sycophancy and managing political bias. The reorganization aims to embed personality development at the core of AI evolution. While founding head Joanne Jang will not continue with this team, she is launching OAI Labs to explore innovative collaborations between humans and AI. Additionally, OpenAI plans to introduce a new jobs platform in 2026 to connect employers with candidates skilled in AI, reflecting the increasing demand for expertise in machine learning, data analysis, and automation, while addressing concerns over AI’s impact on employment.
