OpenAI has launched a new partnership framework in Ireland to enhance AI skills, collaborating with the Department of Enterprise and Dogpatch Labs. The initiative includes the “SME Booster,” a program set for 2026 that offers hands-on AI training, workshops, and mentorship for small and medium enterprises. Additionally, a partnership with Dogpatch Labs aims to support AI startups by facilitating early-stage founders’ integration of AI into their products. OpenAI also teams up with Patch, a non-profit for youth aged 16-21, to expand its Summer program, providing fellowships and grants to foster innovation in AI. OpenAI’s Chief Strategy Officer, Jason Kwon, emphasized supporting Irish entrepreneurs and building globally competitive AI-driven products. Amid concerns about mental health issues linked to AI interactions, OpenAI is implementing safety measures and consulting mental health experts. Overall, these initiatives aim to position Ireland as a European hub for AI entrepreneurship while enhancing productivity across various sectors.
